Friends of the Puyallup Library is a non-profit organization raising money to support Puyallup Library programming. Our main sources of donations are through membership, our book sales, and our bookstore. If you're interested in supporting our cause, we would love to have you join as a volunteer. Bookstore
At Friends of the Puyallup Library, we welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. One of the fun activities our volunteers help us with is organizing book sales. We always need help setting up and staffing the book sales. Reach out to us if you are interested in helping at one of our sales this year.
Book Sales
We accept book donations year-round - and your donations provide critical inventory for our bookstores and book sales. We accept most books - hardbacks, paperbacks, comics, vintage books, and even magazine collections! We do not currently accept used text books.
Book Donations
Memorial Donations​
Do you have a loved one, friend or relative, who was a supporter of the library? You can honor them by making a donation in their name to the Friends of the Puyallup Library. Your loved one's name as well as yours will be recorded in the Memorial book maintained by the Friends and the gift will be acknowledged as a tax deductible donation. Memorial cards are available in the Friends bookstore.
Book Recycling ​​
We need a driver…can you help us out? The Friends of the Library need a volunteer to take boxes of discarded and damaged books to recycle. A pickup truck, van or SUV would be helpful for this approximately once or twice a month delivery. If you can help us please let us know. You can do this by putting a note with your name and phone number or email address into the red cash box located in the book store or email us.
Bookstore Greeters​​
Have you got a little extra time on your hands during the week? The Friends of the Puyallup Library are looking for friendly people who would like to be a volunteer greeter in our bookstore for a few hours. No heavy lifting, just some smiling, a little chit chat and maybe some help finding a book for a patron. If you are interested slip a note with your name and phone number or email address into the red cash box located in the book store or email us at info@friendsofthepuyalluplibrary.com
Book Sales
We have a several book sales each year and during those events we are always in need of a little extra help! Set up involves bringing books out of storage, setting up tables, arranging books, and organizing signage. Then after the sales we have to box up the leftover books and put everything away. We will post set up and tear down volunteer times in our blog and share specific dates and times via our Newsletter. Email us if you want to volunteer!
